Japan Layover
My Japan layover was a really good time, I am so glad that i hired a tour guide (https://otomo-travel.com/en/plans/132) to help me see a couple of things outside of the airport. We met at 9am and he showed me a couple of spots in the airport. We started at this Anime board where you can scan different pieces to learn more and even start a scavenger hunt of spots around the city (called an Anime pilgramage). not really my thing but it was interesting. We also went to two different observation decks in the airport to get to see what the outside was like.
Then it was on the train just 1 stop to Narita-san a temple close by.

We started at an art exhibit on 1800s traditional art. We then walked through the "town" on the way checking out a couple of shops and scoping out possible lunch options before actually getting to the temple. My guide taught me about the history and customs associated with the temple and we walked all around the property. My favorite was of course the Japanese garden behind the temple that was interesting and diverse, with sculptures and water features. After the temple we ende dup at a tiny famiy run restaurant for sashimi over rice with miso soup of course. It was very tasty and relaxing. I wouldn't have been able to go there without a guide since i don't speak or read Japanese.
I got back to the airport in plenty of time to make my flight and do a little bit of last minute shopping before flying home. It was a fitting end to a very diverse trip.

Colombo
So, I never updated this blog about Colombo. Mostly because well, I didn't like Colombo. It was just a big city with pushy people from my experience, but my hotel was really comfortable. So, I curled up in the hotel room and enjoyed TV and AC at the end of my trip. This Lotus blossom tower is pretty fun though.
